About Me

Hi there … welcome to my blog. My name is Alona, I’m from the south end of the world in South Australia. I’m a Gen Xer, and I have a passion for genealogy, and am a hobby genealogist. I have been fortunate enough to have worked in the family history industry for many years, and have gained a lot of knowledge on products, websites and records available to researchers which I hope to share with you.

Hi Alona – A BIG BOUQUET FOR YOU!!!!!!
I have been helping people find their roots at my library talks in Qld and I just wanted to thank you for giving the patrons a fighting chance in finding their roots on ‘Mooseroots’. I thought it very mean of VIC.Gov. making money out of our heritage by charging when our heritage should always be free. After all, we do all the research on line which should free up their public service.

I am an author and if anyone would like to look up http://www.carmeljoyce2@gmail.com to learn a bit more of my style, they can get my eBooks at 99 cents on Amazon at the moment. I write Biography/Australian Pioneer stories.

    Hi,
I might have written to you once before some time ago. I live in a retirement village in Maroochydore Qld.

Its just that I am having a week in Adelaide Dec 21 –28 with relatives of a friend ,and was hoping to get to Gumeracha

I wanted to visit as many sites as I can find. The Baptist church grounds where 3 relatives may be buried.

Sarah Hannaford nee Stanger 29 March 1876

John William Stanger 31 Dec 1856

Mary Jane Stanger 25 May 1866

I have emailed and phoned the Historic centre in Gumeracha but got no reply. Same with the Baptist church.

I wanted to visit the site of the Store which was owned and run by William Stanger and wife Frances.

Also where they lived and had Baptist meetings.

So if you are local you may know all these sites. and point me in the right direction for any other historic finds.

    Regards Ken Stanger
